Regulatory Developments for the Buy-side: Current Issues

The European regulatory landscape is in a state of flux, and as such buy-side participants face significant challenges in tracking and understanding how different rule-sets will affect their businesses. This conference aims to provide an overview of significant regulatory developments, and provide insight into current state of play of various initiatives and how those developments will affect buy-side firms. In particular, the conference will provide updates on the proposed rules governing mandatory clearing and the difficulties associated with the frontloading requirement, as well as examining issues related to EMIR Reporting, MiFID, and margin for non-cleared swaps. It will also provide an overview of the 2015 ISDA Universal Resolution Stay Protocol and preview related developments in light of new regulatory initiatives. Lastly we will discuss the case for revisions to the EMIR framework (currently under consideration) which might benefit buy-side firms.
