As a good practice Debt Management Offices (DMOs) are required to outline their activities and outcomes in periodical statements and at the same time to announce the proposed guidelines for the management of central government debt in a multi-period perspective. Besides proving the achievement of previous commitments, DMOs publications plan the borrowing strategy for the next future subject to objects and limits which Debt Offices have to fulfil while taking decisions on: how the debt should be allocated between different debt instruments; the rate at which this structure is to be achieved; the maturity of the domestic and foreign currency debt. DMOs publications contribute to grant transparency to Debt Offices activity.
