This paper provides an overview of government debt markets in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia, and suggests potential strategies for reforms to the money market, primary market, secondary market, investor base and clearing and settlement infrastructure to foster the development of government securities markets in these countries.
