The report finds zero loss of principal, interest on principal, or fees on the more than $250 billion of loans disbursed during this 34-year period. The average default rate for ADB’s sovereign lending from its ordinary capital resources was 0.54%, comparable to that of an investment-grade portfolio. During 2010–2021 the bank experienced no new defaults in its sovereign operations.
