Join ICMA and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) for a webinar on 10 February at 9.00am (GMT), 5.00pm (Hong Kong) where we will reflect on the 3rd, and ground-breaking, multi-currency digital green bond issuance by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and how the Bond Data Taxonomy was implemented. The issuance marked the second time ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy (BDT) was embedded by a government issuer for a digital green bond. Following a brief introduction there will be a presentation on the key features of the issuance, the benefits for issuers and investors, and the novel use of tokenised central bank money. Furthermore, the webinar will address the implementation of the Bond Data Taxonomy and how this paves the way for further automation and interoperability between traditional and digital capital markets, as well as opportunities and challenges ahead.
