Reconstruction and recovery in the age of crisis
In today’s world, heightened geopolitical tension and the effects of climate change mean that the risk of catastrophic damage to a country or region is on the rise. The war in Ukraine and floods in Pakistan are recent examples. In these circumstances, countries, multilateral organisations and international financial institutions grant funds to help the people affected meet their immediate and daily needs, and to help bring about the longer-term recovery and rebuilding of economic and social infrastructure.
