ECB lowers GDP outlook and raises inflation projections for eurozone
The European Central Bank (ECB) lowered its eurozone economic growth forecasts for 2026 and 2027 while raising its inflation outlook, citing the growing impact of the war in the Middle East on energy markets and consumer confidence. The eurozone economy is now expected to grow by 0.8% in 2026 and 1.2% in 2027, down from forecasts of 0.9% and 1.3% issued three months ago, the ECB said following its June policy meeting.
